The CareMore Business Development Manager will support the organization’s growth efforts by providing leadership support across internal and external collaboration opportunities. The role will provide market planning, research and analytics, project management, and advisory support to both internal and external collaboration partners opportunities. The roll will provide market planning, research, and analytics, project management and advisory support to collaboration partners (including health systems, primary care practices, health plans and other health service entities) in order to support CareMore's business development priorities. In addition to building the analytics and insights for new growth opportunities, the Business Development Manager will provide day-to-day support to the Direct of Business Development in helping to drive CareMore’s growth strategy across the Anthem enterprise.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads the analysis of current and projected product lines to determine optimal business strategy.

  • Oversees research, analysis and the development of recommendations on the external environment as part of the development of strategic business plans.

  • Analyzes major competitor strategies. Identifies and monitors changing patterns of competition and recommends response.

  • Acquires and maintains data/information on market, industry, economic, consumer and competitive conditions and trends pertaining to health insurance/managed care and related services.

  • Consolidates data, analyses and recommendations into concise business plans.

  • Develops and implements project plans and oversees project resources.

  • Leads the activities of lower level staff performing related functions.


Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualification: Master’s degree preferred. Ability to travel may be required.

  • Strong problem solving and analytic skill-set, including ability to develop qualitative and quantitative frameworks and conduct independent analyses that drive to thoughtful insights and conclusions

  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset, including comfort with ambiguity, willingness to iterate, and ability to take initiative

  • Enthusiasm to continue building out the Business Development team’s standard tools and infrastructure

  • Strong healthcare industry knowledge and, more specifically, experience developing / implementing growth strategies in the context of Medicare Advantage and Medicaid

  • Record of academic and professional achievement

  • Ability to work independently, while simultaneously being able to forge productive team relationships

  • Personal leadership qualities, including an ability to manage people, drive change, and accomplish challenging goals by working with others

  • Business judgment and maturity, including the ability to develop a 'big picture' view

  • Strong personal presence, combined with compelling and professional presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
