Proposal Coordinator Sr. - Group Retiree
The selected candidate can work from any Anthem location.
Anthem Group Retiree Solutions (GRS) provides Group Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription programs to retiree plan sponsors nationally. The GRS Proposal Coordinator will work in an exciting, fast-paced, dynamic environment. Primarily this role supports the GRS sales and Account Management teams in the acquisition of new business and retention of existing customers. Must be a self-starter with the ability to handle a high volume, multiple deadline driven deliverables, and comfortable working in a high-performance team environment. Activities include submitting plan designs through the benefit quoting and underwriting process, packaging responses for external use, maintaining updates to various pipeline systems, and ongoing projects that support the team’s sales and retention efforts.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Ability to analyze, interpret, prospect, and enforce customer data including plan designs related to the sale and account management of Group Retiree Solutions (GRS) Medicare Advantage insurance plans.
Researches RFP/RFI issues and interfaces with brokers, consultants, TPAs, and clients to gather additional information needed for RFP/RFI responses.
Assists the Sales and Account Management team with the actual submission process for new business and renewal quotes. Handles process to allow the sales team to sell!
Directly supports the GRS Sales and AM team in the acquisition of new business and Retention of accounts, in such activities as meeting scheduling, consultant and customer presentations, open enrollment.
Supports team activities for enterprise initiatives as well as weekly, monthly and annual pipeline and market management activities.
Supports and becomes actual “owner” of various data analytic projects and supports team activities for enterprise initiatives as well as weekly, monthly, and annual pipeline and market management activities.
Provides proposal status reports to GRS sales management.
Maintains various system updates for proposal and sales activity.
Participates on team projects to complete large group and custom proposals.
Mentors and provides assistance to GRS sales support and/or GRS proposal coordinators.
Requires a BA/BS degree; 3 years of proposal coordination experience (preferable in Group Retiree / Medicare products and marketplace); or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Review and edit of proposal requests or RFPs is strongly preferred.
Ability to “match” existing plan designs with competitors on the Anthem system.
Ability to “match” commercial plan designs as closely as possible on a Group Medicare Advantage/and/or Part D basis.
Experience in managed care and/or health insurance broker/carrier environment is preferred.
Experience working on medical and/or pharmacy benefit summaries is preferred.
Medicare Supp or Medicare Advantage experience is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Salesforce.com, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, and Excel preferred.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and negotiating skills are required.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to flex with volume, navigate deadlines and identify areas to proactively add value – cannot wait for tasks to be assigned.

Annual Salary Range*: $61,236 - $76,545
Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
