Manager Reporting & Data Analysis (Manager Business Intellegence)

The preferred location for this position is Indianapolis, IN but other locations will be considered.

The Manager Reporting & Data Analysis (Manager Business Intelligence) will support the Operations Business Intelligence CSBD team and leads, manages and coordinates the activities of the Grievance and Appeals Business Intelligence team to accomplish company objectives through applying business intelligence concepts. Supports customers in the areas of day-to-day reporting, project management, data analysis and ad hoc reporting. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for management of strategic projects and development and deployment of technological capabilities and analytics to support the Grievance & Appeals (G&A) departments

  • Lead and develop analytical capabilities to drive business insight

  • Create dashboards promoting deeper insight to business performance

  • Conduct hands on advanced analytics to retrieve, compile, and analyze large volumes of data from disparate databases into distilled, actionable information needed by senior leadership to make decisions

  • Champion a data driven decision making culture, and promote the application of analytics and technology to inform business decisions

  • Experience with PowerBI and SQL required

  • Previous experience with grievances and appeals and/ or a regulatory environment preferred

  • Build and develop a talented team with business acumen, data literacy and technological knowhow

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.

  • Ability to communicate with customers about technical issues in non-technical terms.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities

  • Understands the business processes that the system supports.

  • May need to pull data from multiple warehouses for the regional data.


  • Requires BA/BS degree in IT/IS, Business Administration, Mathematics or Statistics and 5 - 7 years of professional experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • MBA, MIS, FSA/ASA, CPA preferred.

  • 5-7 years management in developing & executing strategy and staff management required.

  • Managed health care industry experience preferred.

  • Experience with PowerBI and SQL required

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills required.

  • Excellent analytical skills and PC capabilities required
