A newly created role reporting to the Staff VP, Enterprise Digital Marketing Strategy, the Enterprise B2C eCommerce Strategy Director will be responsible for developing compelling omnichannel experiences that put our customers in control of how they interact with our brand. Partnering with stakeholders across the enterprise (and in particular the Technology, Digital, and Sales organizations) this individual will play a pivotal role in transforming the way the Anthem brand goes to market with B2C and B2B e-commerce to drive growth and revenue.

The ideal candidate is responsible for building the enterprise eCommerce vision and is an inspiring champion deft at developing strong partnerships across a large matrixed organization with multiple stakeholder groups.

  • A subject-matter expert in the area of eCommerce and digital technology.

  • An excellent communicator with a “front of the room” presence who exudes confidence while maintaining a high EQ and humility.

  • A patient educator willing to spend the time to work with stakeholders to understand and support the vision for eCommerce at Anthem.

  • A self-starter who can drive the vision forward and identify clearly when, and what, additional resources are needed for success.

Anthem is leveraging existing but disconnected eCommerce experiences to gain momentum through pilot initiatives leading to a platform build that will scale across the enterprise. This role will start smaller, requiring an individual performer that can build a team as this effort will get “big” quickly.

Deep eCommerce experience is required but we are also seeking a “generalist” with a paid and owned media knowledge building world-class digital experiences for organizations with multiple brands. Proficiency with digital and enterprise analytics – surfacing “actionable insights” for continuous improvement – is absolutely critical.

Job Description:

This job is limited to the Corporate Marketing Organization (CMO) only.

  • Develop, recommend and implement cohesive and innovative eCommerce strategies that connect to and support marketing strategy, campaign planning, advertising, media, and the enterprise technical roadmap.

  • Create synergies between Marketing, Sales, Digital, and IT disciplines to develop impactful omnichannel eCommerce strategies.

  • Be the “go-to” thought leader and expert in modern eCommerce best practices.

  • Partner with several reporting and analytic teams to build out measurement and reporting infrastructure.

  • Effectively project manages, with the business leaders, software implementation projects, reporting project progress and adoption rates to stakeholders.

  • Deliver direct communication and leadership to team members, peers, and business stakeholders that informs, educates, and sets expectations throughout the software implementation process.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, financial services or in a highly regulated industry is preferred.

  • Able to manage multiple vendors and monitor progress, financial status, and overall scope of work.

  • Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS; 8 years of related experience leading digital/social media campaigns and supporting major brand or mobile app marketing campaigns; or any combination of education and experience,

Preferred skills:

  • experience with enterprise eCommerce solutions ideally in a highly regulated industry for desktop and mobile strongly preferred!

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI/PII regulations is a plus.

  • Effective cross-functional leader and consensus builder.

  • Excellent aptitude for developing and presenting big visions, meticulous plans, and actionable learnings.

  • On top of cultural and technological macro-trends as the “go-to” subject matter expert.

  • Expert in digital analytics, personalization, and marketing automation tools particularly with the Adobe Suite and Salesforce.
