The Social Services Specialist is responsible for assisting current and prospective plan members in obtaining a series of benefits and services available to them from the state of Florida, including Food Stamps, Low Income Subsidy, and Medicaid status eligibility.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists members with all Access Florida concerns, discrepancies, and completion of applications/forms related programs such as Medicaid, food stamps, Medicare subsidies, cellphone assistance, low income subsidy programs.

  • Makes house visits to members at their respective homes and help them in completing all necessary paperwork to qualify them for benefits and services.

  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality of customer medical records in accordance with state and federal laws.

  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Participates in meetings, training and in-service education, as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare, sales or marketing environment; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle with valid motor vehicle insurance required.

  • Fluency in Spanish and English required.
