Director Corporate Communications - Internal Digital Platforms

The Director Corporate Communications – Internal Digital Platforms role will lead a team responsible for all editorial and design functions of the company’s intranet. The Director should establish a vision and overarching strategy for the intranet, oversee the editorial calendar and day-to-day operations of the platform, and continuously assess and refine the user experience.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: - Drive the intranet strategy and evolve the content to more closely align with Anthem’s purpose, strategy, mission, and culture. - Assess and improve the site architecture and content layout to create a consistent, user-friendly, employee-centric experience. - Lead a team of writers and designers to create relevant and visually compelling content on a daily basis. - Develop a streamlined process to solicit and publish articles from across the enterprise, and establish best practices for quality control of editorial content. - Oversee enterprise intranet master content calendar. - Partner with key stakeholders such as Human Resources and Digital/Information Technology in order to evolve the content delivery strategy and lead ongoing intranet optimization efforts. - Gather, analyze, and communicate relevant metrics to stakeholders to demonstrate site effectiveness and drive ongoing site improvement. - Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Work location: Any of the following Anthem states - California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Wisconsin. ; may consider other locations for most qualified applicant.

Qualifications

Requires a BA/BS in English, Communications or Journalism preferred; 10 years of experience in a related field; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • MS preferred.
  • Knowledge of the managed care/healthcare insurance industry preferred.
  • Prior/current experience managing/leading a team.

Ideal candidate will possess the following: - Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication skills, along with excellent writing and editing skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to shape and edit team members’ content in a productive, results-driven manner. - Keen sense of design and visual content. - Sound business judgment and experience “connecting the dots” among seemingly unrelated topics. - Ability to synthesize difficult concepts into easily accessible language.
